PDI Releases New Payroll Processing Software

TEMPLE, TEXAS – March 29, 2017 — PDI, a leading provider of enterprise-class software solutions to the convenience retail and wholesale petroleum industries, today announced the general release of PDI Payroll. The payroll processing software is the latest addition to PDI’s labor management solution, which includes labor scheduling and time and attendance tools.

As part of PDI’s fully integrated workforce suite, PDI Payroll eliminates the need for multiple products and enables users to simplify the payroll processing experience with a single solution that connects every step from time tracking to check distribution. As a result, companies are able to improve accuracy by decreasing errors and reducing manual touchpoints, save time with process automation, breakdown information silos with better integration, and quickly resolve issues with customizable exception alerts.

Amarillo, Texas-based convenience retailer Pak-A-Sak served as the beta customer for PDI’s payroll software. Gary McKee, the chief information officer for the retailer, said his company has seen a significant change since implementing the product. “The weekly payroll process is now much more streamlined,” McKee explained. “We can make changes or correct payroll issues from a single view. We’ve increased efficiency, and we’ve been able to reduce payroll processing time by 50 percent. That’s a huge savings.”

PDI Payroll also automatically calculates taxes based on current rates that are regularly updated as changes occur. In addition, it easily integrates to third-party providers for Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance, W-2 preparation, 401(k) withholdings and benefits deductions. Lastly, PDI Payroll comes equipped with 50 standard exception notices that alert users to issues that need to be addressed, such as instances of unrecorded time or initial setup review.

“This is a huge milestone in the product roadmap for our labor management offering, and the demand among our customers for a PDI-designed payroll solution has been incredibly high,” said Jim Wade, vice president of product management for PDI. “We’re proud to deliver a product that seamlessly connects payroll processing with the PDI Enterprise operational and accounting systems, eliminating errors, saving time, and providing critical business intelligence about their business.”

Plans for the next phase in PDI’s workforce management product line include a team portal that will allow employees to use mobile devices to view their schedules, receive announcements and alerts, send and receive messages with their co-workers, and review their pay statements.
